100,000km with Airbags in the Ute
I know this one is a contentious topic.
So I want to share my experience about having airbags in the setup.
I think I have heard all the pros and cons of airbags.

If you’re not exactly familiar with airbags- in my particular case, they sit in the rear coils and are inflated when the car is loaded and deflated when empty.
It’s not a lift kit – it is purely for load levelling.
Lift kits have a time and place and in my personal experience, I didn’t want a permanently decided ride level or firmness.
My setup is dynamic, my suspension needs to be too.
Firmer coils in the back would’ve led to some uncomfortable driving especially when the setup is out.
Or without them it would’ve been way too low – especially with the soft coils in the navara.
Which is why I went down the airbag route.
Pump up when the setup is in, air down when it’s out.
My favourite complaint about airbags is always, goodluck when the chassis bends.
Chassis’ don’t bend because of airbags.
They bend because of improper weight management within the tub.
The airbags are never to blame, they just amplify it.
Overload your rig especially beyond the rear axle – chances are it will bend, bagged or not.
Keep the setup within spec weight limits and the suspension feels great with bags.
Best part is, they were easy to install myself.
They’re even easier to inflate and deflate when the situation arises.
Load up your setup properly
